Gorgeous fabric!

“This was my first order from Wild Linens and I was impressed with the beautiful fabric. Soft yet strong, well woven and with the typical unique features of flax linen. I've already made another purchase for different colours and have plans to return for more.”

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Linen becomes softer and more absorbent after each wash. We recommend you wash linen fabrics on a low temperate (nothing higher than 40°C). Use a gentle cycle and mild detergent to protect the natural fibres.

  • The natural colour of undyed linen, referred to as 'linen grey,' exhibits a non-uniform tone shaped by the nuances of the flax crop's cultivation and processing. Not the typical grey you'd imagine, in its untouched state, woven linen fabric spans tones between ivory, oatmeal and taupe.

See our Natural Linen for an undyed variant of our linen textiles.

  • To dye linen, prepare the fabric by washing it. Linen is made from the flax plant and as a plant fibre can be dyed with a fibre-reactive dye. Create a dye bath, pre-wet the linen, and immerse it. Stir continuously, follow recommended dyeing time, then rinse and wash with mild detergent. Dry according to care instructions. Always wear protective gear and follow dye manufacturer's guidelines.

  • Linen is highly durable, known for its strength and longevity. With proper care, it withstands regular use and washing, becoming even softer over time while maintaining its structural integrity.

  • Our linens originate from Lithuania. Renowned for its quality flax cultivation and weaving traditions, Lithuania produces exceptional linen fabrics, known for their durability, softness, and natural elegance.

Sourced with a Conscience

All our coloured linen fabrics are responsibly sourced and OEKO-TEX® certified, which means they’ve been processed and dyed using skin friendly substances that are also kind to the planet. So that the only choice you have to make is whether you’re more drawn to the earthy Moss Green of a woodland walk, the fragrant Coral Pink of a rose or the Deep Teal of the ocean.

Beautifully Soft

Softened and stonewashed for added luxury & versatility, the beautiful drape of these washed linen fabrics brings a relaxed elegance to handmade clothing, table linens, curtains and accessories. They offer a beautiful way to introduce the rich colours of nature into your home and daily life.

Expertly Crafted in Lithuania

Pure linen is quite possibly the oldest fabric on earth. We know that people have been spinning the natural fibres of the flax plant and weaving them into pure linen cloth for thousands of years. And, as a nation with a long heritage of linen production, our carefully chosen Lithuanian linen suppliers have got this down to a fine art. Processed naturally, without synthetic materials or substances that are harmful to humans or the planet, linen also uses less water to produce than cotton, making it an even more sustainable choice.

The Benefits of Linen

Already well-known for helping us stay cool on balmy summer days (and nights), thanks to its natural insulating and moisture-wicking properties linen can also help keep us warm in winter. It’s this unique combination of qualities that makes it one of the best fabrics for dressmaking, clothing and bed linens, all year round. Its earthy, crinkled texture becomes softer and more tactile with each wash and use, only adding to the natural luxe appeal. A truly timeless fabric that will last you a lifetime.
