Frequently Asked Questions

  • Linen is crafted from the fibres obtained from the stems of the flax plant. A versatile textile, predominantly used for clothing and homewares, it has several unique qualities, including exceptional breathability, durability and the fact it's a fabric naturally free from plastics.

  • Stonewashed linen refers to high-quality linen that undergoes pre-washing before use. In this process, actual stones are employed to accelerate the garment wash effect, providing textile items with a distinctive appearance. The use of stones in the manufacturing process is what characterises and gives rise to the term "stonewashing" in relation to linen.

  • Linen can be machine washed at 40°c (or a planet-friendlier 30°c if only lightly soiled). Use a gentle cycle, ensuring the washing machine is not overloaded, and a mild detergent formulated for delicate fabrics.

Discover our linen care guide for more detailed instructions on how to wash your linen textiles.

  • Our linens may shrink marginally after the first wash (1-2 centimetres). We then recommend hand or machine washing your linen textiles in lukewarm water or at a temperature below 40°c to avoid shrinkage.

  • To remove crinkles in your linen, you will first need to damped the fabric. To avoid scorching or burning the linen, keep the iron moving across the fabric at all times and gently stretch out wrinkles in the cloth for the best results.

  • Our linen fabrics are consciously-sourced from heritage producers in Lithuania, where there is a rich heritage of linen production dating back centuries. The Baltic climate is ideal for cultivating flax, the plant linen is made from, producing the finest quality fibres and an exceptional quality textile that producers in the region are known around the world for.

  • Linen is inherently sustainable as the entire flax plant is used for fibre production, minimising waste. When organically processed without chemicals or intensive dyes, linen not only leaves little environmental footprint but also requires minimal water for cultivation, making it a more earth-friendly choice.

  • All our linen textiles are OEKO-TEX® certification which signifies that a product, along with all its components, is free from hazardous substances. Items bearing the Standard 100 label have undergone thorough testing, ensuring they meet strict criteria for the absence of harmful levels of toxic substances. This means all our fabrics are kind to skin and the planet!

  • Linen is a versatile textile used in apparel (shirts, dresses), home textiles (bedding, cushions), decor (curtains, upholstery), and crafts.

Our Washed Linens Collection

Our washed linen has undergone a specialised washing process to minimise potential for further shrinkage and achieve a luxuriously soft finish. This ensure our linen material can be used for your next project without needing extensive washing before use, as well as offering an exceptional level of softness. Expertly crafted to stand the test of time, our linens have been traditionally stonewashed for an exquisite texture and feel, using actual stones to provide the cloth with a distinct fine quality and appearance.

We work with heritage linen producers in Lithuania, renowned globally for their craftsmanship, and the finish and quality of their textiles. Our washed linens are also OEKO-TEX certified to ensure minimal ecological impact and are free from harmful chemicals.

Welcome Linen into Your Home and Wardrobe

Our ethically-sourced collection of linens are the perfect choice for dressmaking, home decor or clothing projects. Find your style, and discover a colour range inspired by the natural world, from earthy greens, bright oranges and muted pastels.

Linen is a popular choice for making garments and home textiles due to its incredible durability and the fact its texture becomes softer with each use and wash. With proper care our stonewashed linen will not only last for years to come, but also get better with time. Furthermore, by choosing a linen that is pre-washed for your next sewing project, this will ensure minimal shrinkage after initial washing at home (1-2 centimetres) and ensure stress-free crafting.
