When choosing your size, three proportions matter. The diameter of the shade should roughly match the height of the lamp base - so a 30cm tall base suits a 30cm shade. The height of the shade should be around two-thirds the height of the base, which is why our drum shades are proportioned the way they are. Finally, the width of the shade should always be wider than the widest point of the base to look balanced - a shade that's narrower than the base will look top-heavy.
