Frequently Asked Questions

About linen fabric

Made from 100% linen flax, our linen fabrics are expertly crafted to bring a luxurious feel to your next sewing project. Available in a range of colours inspired by the natural world to help you find your perfect match, and bring the timeless charm of linen into your home or wardrobe.

Stonewashed for luxurious softness

Our washed linens undergo a meticulous stonewashing process, that delivers an exceptional level of softness. The method involves washing the linen with stones, leaving the cloth delightfully soft and luxurious to the touch.

Consciously sourced from Lithuania

Linen is one of the oldest textiles known to humankind, dating back centuries. Made from the natural fibres of the flax plant, we source our linen material from Lithuania, renounced for its long heritage of linen production and fine quality fabric. Naturally free from plastic, linen also uses less water to produce that cotton, making it a more sustainable choice, with Lithuania's climate producing some of the world's highest quality flax linen cloth.

The versatility of linen

Linen is natural insulating and moisture-wicking, helping keep us warm in winter and cool on summer days. It’s this unique combination of qualities that makes it one of the best fabrics for clothing and dressmaking. Unlike synthetic textiles, linen actually gets softer and more tactile every time it's washed, adding to its charm and longevity.

Placing an order from our UK shop

The fabric is 145 cm (57″) wide and will be cut in one continuous length. To order, simply click ‘metre’ on the product page and then add the number of metres you wish to purchase. For example, to order a two-metre length of linen material, you would set the quantity to ‘2.’ All orders are cut and packaged by us and sent directly from our UK online shop.

Fabric samples

We try to photograph our fabrics to be as true to colour as possible. However, please be aware that colours may show differently on screen. We would recommend ordering one of our linen fabric samples if you are at all unsure so that you can see the colour first-hand before purchasing your fabric.
